Thread: Cosco Doxycycline Price Inquiry

Posted by: HealthyHoboHi everyone,

I've been recommended to take doxycycline for my recent skin infection. I heard that Costco sells it at a good price. Does anyone know the current price or have any tips on getting it there? Thanks in advance!

Reply by: SmartSpoonHey, HealthyHobo! I just picked up some doxycycline from Costco yesterday. The price was pretty reasonable about $10 for 20 pills. They have a good pharmacy section and usually stock antibiotics like this one.

Make sure you check with your doctor to confirm the dosage and how many pills you need before heading over there though! Hope that helps!

Reply by: HealthyHoboThanks, SmartSpoon! That's exactly what I needed to know. Do they require a prescription at Costco for doxycycline? Or can it be bought OTC?

Reply by: SmartSpoonYoure welcome! Yes, you definitely need a prescription from your doctor for doxycycline. Its not available over-the-counter (OTC). So make sure to get that before going in.

Also, if you have insurance, Costco's pharmacy is great because they often offer lower prices even with or without insurance coverage.

Reply by: HealthyHoboGot it! Ill get a prescription sorted out first then head over to Costco. Any other advice on how long it takes to fill the prescription there?

Reply by: SmartSpoonIts pretty quick if you go early in the day. Usually, they can fill prescriptions within 10-20 minutes during less busy times. I went around noon and didnt have to wait at all.

Also, check out their online pharmacy service if you want to save some time you can order your prescription online and pick it up later or get it shipped to your home. Its convenient!

Reply by: HealthyHoboThat's great to know! I'll probably try the online option since I work during most of the day. Do they have a specific website for that?

Reply by: SmartSpoonYes, definitely give the online pharmacy a go if you cant make it in person! You can visit their website at www.costco.com/pharmacy. Its easy to navigate. Just sign in with your Costco account or create one if you don't have an existing account. From there, youll be able to upload a prescription and place the order.

Once it's processed, they'll notify you when it's ready for pick-up or if it has shipped.

Reply by: HealthyHoboWow, thanks so much for all this info! You've been really helpful, SmartSpoon. I think I'm set now. If anyone else has tips, please share!

Reply by: PharmacyPalHey there, HealthyHobo! Just wanted to add that if you're not a Costco member but need the medication urgently, some members might let you use their account for a small fee or even just out of goodwill.

Also, make sure to ask your doctor about generic options. They can sometimes be more affordable and work just as well as brand names like doxycycline.

Reply by: HealthyHoboThanks, PharmacyPal! That's really thoughtful advice. I'll check with my doc about generics too. Everyone here has been super helpful!

Reply by: SmartSpoonYou're welcome, HealthyHobo! If you have any more questions or need further help, feel free to ask. Were all here to support each other. Good luck and hope your treatment goes well!
